ID-RP2000V / ID-RP4000V Description:

ICOM's D-STAR Digital Voice Repeater Modules support handheld, mobile, and base station equipment that utilizes the D-STAR digital voice (DV) protocol. Developed by ICOM in concert with the Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL), D-STAR is the first digital standard to gain amateur radio industry support.

Available for the 2 Meter, 70 cm, and 23 cm bands, these rack-mounted digital repeaters use QPSK modulation to repeat input signals in less than 5.5 kHz of bandwidth. Such a narrow bandwidth makes D-STAR very spectrally efficient! Transmitter power is selectable between a low of 2-3 watts and a high range of 23-30 watts. That's plenty of power to put your repeater site on the map!

These D-STAR Digital Voice Repeaters sport Double-Conversion Super-heterodyne receivers for great sensitivity and selectivity. Utilizing Forward Error Correction, they have a very tolerant bit error rate, nearly to the noise floor, and they typically have less than .45 microvolt sensitivity!

These DV repeaters also support low-speed data transfer on the DV channel that can send short messages between radios or be used for automated functions like GPS location reports, multiple canned-messages up to 20 characters in length, and stored call-sign transmission. Coupled with the D-STAR Repeater Controller, these D-STAR Digital Voice Repeater Modules represent the next giant leap for amateur radio!
