The Icom IC-T22A is a 2 meter handheld with many advanced features. You get 80 regular memory channel or 40 alphanumeric memory channels (up to six characters). There are also 5 DTMF memory channels for codes up to 30 digits long. The memories which are stored in an EE-PROM that ensures your information will remain even if the batteries go dead. The following scan functions are supported: Full Scan, Memory Scan, Programmed Scan, Memory skip scan and Frequency Skip Scan. The Priority Watch feature checks your call channel every 5 seconds. There is even a DTMF Pager function. Code squelch provides quiet standby. Subaudible tone operation is available with the addition of the optional UT-94 (see Options below). The T22A will accept 4.5 to 16 VDC external DC power. Power output is 3 watts with the supplied battery. Up to 5 watts output can be achieved when this HT is run from 13.8 VDC or with the optional BP-173 battery. The Auto Power Off feature my be set to 20, 40, 60 minutes or OFF. There is also a power saver capability. You cannot see the best feature of the T22A. This feature is the bullet-proof front-end. This HT is great for users in metro areas where intermod and interference is an increasing problem.
