Rugged and Basic 2M with Powerful Audio!
The Icom IC-V80-SPORT-05 is an economical 2M VHF amateur radio that's rugged and loud. With its 2m/70cm dual band operation, rich analog features and tough, water resistant housing, the V80 Sport is a perfect choice for ham radio enthusiasts on the go.
The IC-V80-SPORT-05 features 207 memory channels, including 200 regular channels, 6 scan edges and 1 call channel. The IC-V80 also offers 10 DTMF memory channels, built-in CTCSS/DTCS tone codes, Pocket beep alerts and tone scan to detect sub-audible tones used for repeater access. The Icom V80 includes VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation using an optional plug adapter cable and headset.
With the Icom IC-V80-SPORT-05 at the ready, transmissions are received loud and clear. It's equipped with a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier for double the audio output and a large, built-in 36mm speaker that belts it all out at 750mW so you can hear it in high noise environments.
The IC-V80 Sport has up to 5.5W of power on VHF frequencies with several power options. The V80 SPort is powered by 6 AA Alkaline batteries (not included). An optional Icom BP-264 Ni-MH battery pack can power it up to for 13 hours (approx.) on a full charge. It can also take an optional Icom BP-265 Li-Ion battery pack for up to 19 hours (approx.) of operation.
The IC-V80-SPORT-05 is also rugged. It is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance and meets equivalent MIL-STD-810-C, D, E and F environmental testing.
The Icom IC T70A comes with an alkaline battery case (batteries not included), belt clip, BNC-style removable antenna, manual of ham radio terms, quick guide and a one year manufacturer warranty from Icom.
AA Alkaline Power
Perfect for long shelf life use, such as emergency kits. Same output power (5.5/2.5 or 0.5 Watt selectable) as the standard V80. The V80 SPORT comes with an alkaline tray that will hold 6 AA size batteries* . No charger required.
*Batteries are not included.
The V80 SPORT radio meets the same military specs and IP tests as the regular V80 radio.
